In the quiet of a typical evening in the US, a call like this raises red flags right away. Posing as Verizon to gain phone access screams scam—legitimate companies never ask for remote control over your device unsolicited. Hang up immediately and don't engage; these tactics aim to steal data or install malware. Verify any real issues by contacting Verizon directly through their official app or website, using numbers from your bill, not from the caller. Block the number and report it to the FCC or FTC to help curb these nuisances. Stay vigilant; sharing access could lead to identity theft or financial loss.
