Like a wolf in sheep's clothing, this call from a supposed Verizon rep is a classic scam tactic to panic you into action. The caller falsely claimed your non-existent account was about to close, a red flag for fraudsters preying on confusion. Hang up immediately on such unsolicited threats—never share personal info or click links they provide. Verify any account issues directly through official channels, like Verizon's app or website. Report to the FTC at ftc.gov/complaint to help curb these nuisances. Stay vigilant; blocking the number and enabling call screening on your phone adds another layer of protection.
