A Shoppee seller, whose store was later banned, claimed I needed to answer a call to cancel an order I never placed. The caller sent a Shoppee verification code, so I blocked the seller, suspecting a phishing attempt to hijack my Shoppee account.

Heads up: these calls masquerade as a Shoppee verification request, but the story doesn't add up. Scammers often exploit banned sellers to create urgency, hoping you'll hand over a code that grants them access to your account. Never share verification codes with anyone, even if they claim to be a vendor you know. If you didn't place an order, simply ignore the call and block the number. Consider enabling two‑factor authentication on your Shoppee account and report the incident to the platform's support. Staying skeptical and keeping your credentials private are your best defenses.
