Ever wonder why a call claiming to be Microsoft keeps popping up from the same number? The pattern here points to a classic impersonation scam targeting license renewal anxieties. Callers use vague references to “optimising” environments or “bulk licence agreements” to create urgency, yet they never disclose a legitimate business name or provide verifiable credentials. Recipients should treat any unsolicited outreach that asks for internal contacts or pushes a sales pitch as suspicious. Hang up, verify through official Microsoft channels, and block the number if it persists. Staying skeptical and confirming identities directly with known partners is the safest play.

The caller claimed to need an account or IT manager for upcoming license renewals of a client, which seems odd for a legitimate request. If it were genuine, it might be Microsoft attempting to intercept our licensing process. Otherwise, it feels like an unprofessional scam.
