A single report highlights an automated call with a hold message and music, signaling potential robocalling tactics often used to engage recipients. Such patterns frequently precede sales pitches, surveys, or scams, where silence prompts callbacks from curious users. Data suggests these calls exploit missed connections to build lists for further outreach. To protect personal info, avoid returning calls to unknown numbers and enable call screening features on your device. Block the contact if it persists, and report to authorities if demands for data arise. Staying vigilant curbs unwanted intrusions without revealing details.
I got a missed call followed by an automated voicemail. The message said, “Please hold the line while we transfer you,” and then music played while I waited.
