When you get a call from an unknown number, stay calm and don't share personal info right away. Let the caller speak, then ask for a name, organization, and a callback number. If anything feels off—pressure tactics, promises of money, or requests for payment—hang up and verify independently. Block the number if it keeps calling, and consider reporting it to your carrier or a consumer protection agency. Keeping a log of the call details can help you spot patterns and protect yourself from future scams.
