The number 0851278385, purportedly from Port Hedland, WA, is a nuisance scam. They use the typical script: 'you have a government document – press 1 for English, 2 for Chinese.' I pressed 1 to verify, got a response of 'Ni hao' and the call ended when I asked for English.

Názor odborníka
In Western Australia's Port Hedland region, calls from this number often go unanswered with no voicemail left, signaling potential spam. Reports highlight a classic government impersonation scam, prompting recipients to press buttons for language options before connecting to suspicious operators who disconnect upon requests for English. This tactic aims to harvest active numbers or push fake claims about official documents. Block the number immediately to avoid engagement, and never press prompted keys or share personal info. Report to authorities like the ACMA in Australia for tracking. If curious, use reverse lookup tools safely without calling back—staying vigilant prevents escalation to more aggressive tactics.
