Five calls in rapid succession, then the number gets blocked and another rings shortly after. The pattern across the comments points to a wave of nuisance calls from UK mobile prefixes, each using a fresh 074 suffix and pretending to be tax agents, delivery couriers, banks, or even police. Never share personal or banking details with unsolicited callers and hang up as soon as the pitch starts. Use your handset’s block feature, add the numbers to a call‑filtering app, and report repeat offenders to Action Fraud. Keeping a simple log of offending numbers helps the authorities track organised scams.
