They pretended to be Virgin Media, then oddly asked "How are you?" – a tactic I haven’t seen from Virgin, and the call even seemed to originate from France. I slammed the phone down.

Reports highlight a pattern of deceptive calls impersonating Virgin Media, often laced with odd, unsolicited greetings like 'How are you?' that clash with the company's polished style. Originating from a French number, these attempts scream scam rather than legitimate outreach, as Virgin rarely dials from abroad. Recipients wisely hang up swiftly to dodge potential traps. Stay vigilant: never share details with unsolicited callers, verify via official channels, and report to Action Fraud if pressed. Blocking the number helps, but watch for similar ploys from other lines—nuisance callers adapt quickly.
