I didn't take the call from this number, but interestingly, when I searched it, it led me to Ryecraft Motors & Bodyshop Ltd in London. They might be legitimate or perhaps have dialled incorrectly, but I reside in Aberdeen and last visited London by flight. Thus, I wasn't surprised to find numerous reviews about scammers associated with it. No voicemail was left, so it couldn't have been urgent!

BDRC research was the alleged purpose of the call, but it turned out to be a scam
The company in question is https://www.bva-bdrc.com/. They are frequently employed by other firms to gather data on customers or audiences. Banks or other organisations share your details with them, often because you've agreed to it in some lengthy data policy when using their service or website. In my case, it was my business bank. They posed fairly generic questions, all of which are publicly available on HMRC. Then they asked a few more questions about how likely I would be to recommend the bank's various services. I chose to remain anonymous when providing this information back to the bank, hoping this would prevent calls trying to upsell me services. Naturally, stay vigillant with the information you provide and the types of questions you're asked. But I don't believe this is a scam.

Claimed to be from Santander Business, but it seemed dubious
A man from BDRC, supposedly acting on behalf of Santander, attempted to contact the business owner of Smith Printing Service, but had incorrect information and hung up.
A caller with a west country accent, claiming to be from a government agency called BRDC, tried to speak to my boss or Accounts Manager, but ended the call abruptly when I said no one was available.
They claimed to be conducting a Government survey for small businesses. I declined, but the caller insisted on speaking to a director. I’ve blocked the number.

They called the head office, claiming to have 'a few questions' about a business enterprise. When asked to send an email, they insisted everything was handled over the phone.
A man claimed to be from a government office and asked to speak to the finance department. When I suggested emailing, he refused. I told him we don't take unsolicited calls, and he hung up. Avoid this number!
This is a genuine market research company called Perspective Research Services.
The caller, claiming to be from Metro Bank, asked for my name and account details. It was clearly a scam. They then pretended to conduct a customer survey, which I knew was fraudulent. I’ve now blocked the number.
Someone asked for me by name and introduced himself as Peter, claiming to represent Age Concern UK. He mentioned a survey related to a website that sounded unfamiliar.

A caller, allegedly from the Government and associated with banks, requested financial information about my business, but I terminated the call without providing any details.
