If you’re getting relentless calls about a car accident you never had, it’s almost certainly a scam. The callers usually pose as a motor investigations firm or claim you owe money for a bogus PPI or RTA claim. They’ll hang up as soon as you answer or keep ringing to wear you down. The best defence is to don’t engage – let the call go to voicemail and block the number. Report the nuisance to your phone provider and, if it persists, flag it with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Keep a record of call times in case you need evidence for a formal complaint.
