They were conducting market surveys for Beneficial, and I kept telling them to remove me from their list, right?

In the quiet of a typical afternoon in the North East, calls from this number often catch people off guard. These appear to stem from Beneficial, posing as market researchers but frequently leading to data misuse and further scams. Comments highlight persistent harassment, with callers ignoring requests to stop or remove numbers from lists. Beware sharing personal details; it could invite unwanted solicitations or fraud. To protect yourself, always verify the caller independently and never provide sensitive info over unsolicited calls. Report to 7726 via text for network flagging, and check the NCSC site for phishing guidance. Blocking the number helps, but persistence suggests wider opt-out measures like TPS registration might be needed.

Being on another call prevented me from answering, but after reading a comment that it was from Beneficial I’m relieved I missed it; they’ve been calling for ages despite my requests to be removed, and one representative even warned they'd keep ringing until I spoke.
That firm is a notorious scam outfit that pretends to be market researchers. They’ll sell your answers and open you up to further scams. You can text the details to 7726 to flag the number as spam across the network and potentially alert the police if reports pile up. More info on reporting can be found on the NCSC phishing‑scams page, cheers.
