Oddly enough, the same UK‑origin number keeps popping up when people receive unsolicited WhatsApp verification calls. Most reports describe repeated voice prompts offering a code you never asked for, often followed by a brief voicemail that disappears quickly. The pattern points to an automated service trying to hijack accounts or charge for a verification step. If you get such a call, let it go straight to voicemail, never share personal info, and block the number. Report the incident to WhatsApp and your carrier, and consider enabling two‑factor authentication via the app itself rather than a phone call. Stay alert to unexpected verification requests and keep your account settings locked down.

I didn't want to activate the service, but I'm receiving codes. Someone might be trying to take over my old account. Don't click on any links, as it could lead to identity theft and allow scammers to impersonate you on WhatsApp.
