Expertenmeinung
Like a ghost in the machine, these silent or probing calls from this number leave callers hanging in uncertainty. Multiple reports highlight hang-ups after answering, with one instance involving a cheeky query about a road traffic accident that screams scam tactics. No legitimate outfit operates this way—it's classic nuisance behaviour to test lines or fish for responses. Block the number immediately via your phone settings or carrier app to stop repeats. If it persists, log it with Ofcom or the ICO for tracking; reporting helps build a case against such pests. Stay vigilant, but don't engage—hanging up swiftly is your best defence.

That call was a bother – answered, got silence, then they hung up, mate.
A spammer called, asked how I was, and when I said I wasn’t interested, he claimed he wasn’t a scammer and then inquired about a recent road‑traffic accident. We both laughed before he hung up. I blocked and reported the number—best to avoid or mock them.
