Following my guitar sale posting on marktplaats, I received a call from this number yesterday; the caller was busy and promised to call back, but before that, I decided to look up the number and found this platform, which also features a photo with his grandchild that I received too

A man claiming to be John Frederick contacted me after sending a WhatsApp about a guitar I had for sale, trying to negotiate the price without even seeing the guitar, and then asking for a photo of my bank card to avoid making a mistake with the account number, which raised suspicions and prompted him to hang up quickly

I had the same experience as John, with the individual asking for a copy of my bank card, which I refused to provide, and warn others to be cautious of this scammer

Contact was initiated via WhatsApp, with a request for rushed business transactions and sensitive information, raising suspicions of a scam

Attempted to obtain my IBAN via WhatsApp for a Marktplaats purchase, beware of John Frederik, avoid at all costs!

This happend to me yesterday too, he called himsself john fredrik. He asked for a foto of my bank card, but I saw through it. He had a whole story about sending a messenger to pick up the product, of course he didnt need to give me his adress.
