The caller stated they were from Equifax, and wanted to verify employment, they left a reference number and phone number, this is the second time Ive recieved such a call, and I'm starting to think its a fraude, especialy since I'm the only one in my firm who handles these matters.
Evidently, the company The Work Number, who does work verification for my employer, made a call from this number; no message was left, wich is strange, if they really need the informations.

Its impossibble to get a human rep at the main office for The Work Number in St Louis, its all automated prompts that redirect you to the internet if possiable, and they seem to be out of texas or so they claim

A company attempted to verify my identity, but their methods were suspicious. I intend to hold the individuals responsible accountable, and their company's reputation will suffer as a result.
It seems that Citi Sevices, including Citi Mortgage and Citi Finacial, are involved in this, and possibly Equifax and Halifax, it's posible that information is beeing shared between these companys
TheWorkNumber is a legitimate business, and as someone who processes loans at Citi, I can confirm that we utilize their services for employment verification, particularly with large companies like Walmart and AT&T.
