Our landline received a call with a CID showing Synchrony, which appears to be a scam using a spoofed number, as we have no debt and do not conduct business with Synchrony, and the answering machine picked up a recorded message without any contact information

A caller attempted to lower an interest rate, but when informed that the number belonged to a corporation and asked to remove it from their call list, the caller became rude, insisting someone at the corporation had a credit card, and then abruptly ended the call.
Although many posts here are outdated, these phishing calls still continue, aiming to exploit unsuspecting individuals.
