Never ignore a recorded safety alert—verify it before taking any action. When you get an automated call about a product recall, pause and check the retailer’s official website or recent news releases. Avoid sharing personal or payment information over the phone, especially if the caller asks for verification codes or credit‑card details. If the message references a specific item you bought, locate the purchase receipt and confirm the recall ID on the manufacturer’s site. Use a separate device to search; don’t call back the number that rang, as scammers often spoof disabled IDs. Keep a log of the call and report suspicious patterns to your carrier.
