Recent spikes in complaints point to a pattern of fraudulent robocalls targeting Canadian consumers. Callers typically claim a survey or a police check, then pressure you for personal details. Never share banking, health, or identification info with an unsolicited caller—legitimate agencies won’t ask for that over the phone. Use your carrier’s block feature or a third‑party app to stop the number, and file a report with the FTC or Canada Revenue Agency. Keep a log of call times and any recorded messages; this helps authorities track repeat offenders. Staying skeptical and protecting your data are the quickest ways to avoid becoming a victim.
