Мнение эксперта

Imagine getting a silent greeting followed by a vague charity pitch—sounds like a classic robocall trap. The call’s origin tag points to Detroit, but the script and dead air are hallmarks of a phone scam that tries to pressure you for cash. Hang up immediately and block the number; don’t call back, as that confirms your line is active. Report the incident to the FTC and your carrier’s spam‑filter service. Keep a log of any similar calls and share it with local consumer‑protection agencies to help flag the source.

When I answered the call from this number, there was a long period of silence before someone asked for money, claiming it was for a cause, but hung up before I could respond.

The caller ID showed Detroit, MI, and a dial-back message stated it was a fundraising center, which seems dubious.
