A caller from 020 3514 1280, purporting to represent MyHeritage, rang to talk about my website usage. We briefly discussed my interactions with the site, but I ended the conversation once he brought up renewal terms. Even though he tried to verify his legitimacy from MyHeritage, I firmly declined, stating I avoid dealings with unsolicited callers entirely. I have no memory of authorising MyHeritage to phone me.

Asiantuntijan arvio
Be wary of unsolicited calls like this one, as they often catch people off guard. Reports suggest it's mainly linked to MyHeritage, pushing subscription renewals or upgrades through cold calling, which some find legitimate but others view as intrusive or suspicious. Not everyone recalls opting in for such contact, so if you pick up, verify the caller's identity independently via the official website rather than sharing details over the phone. Block the number if it rings repeatedly without leaving a message, and report persistent harassment to your telecom provider or bodies like the Information Commissioner's Office. For peace of mind, stick to renewing subscriptions through trusted channels only—avoid deals that pressure you on the spot.

Advertising call about a service I don't need; the script was overly pushy and repetitive.

Unfamiliar number, so I let it go to voicemail
This originates from telesales at myheritage.com... Promoting fresh features, entry to additional platforms, and cheaper renewals for a two-year plan. Essentially, update your subscription, gain extras, and spend less than currently. I accepted the offer since it also covers data backup and secure tree storage.

Rang twice; I forwarded to voicemail. No message was recorded, so it's obviously spam or not worth bothering with.
