WhatsApp verification code scam – what to watch for! - +44 161 694 8777 (0161 694 8777)

전문가 의견
Never share a verification code with anyone who calls you out of the blue. Calls from +441616948777 repeatedly deliver a spoken WhatsApp code, often late at night, trying to trick you into confirming a login on a device you never requested. Treat the call as a classic phishing attempt and hang up immediately. Do not call back, as the short‑ring‑and‑hang‑up pattern is designed to generate expensive return charges. Report the number to your carrier and block it on your phone. Keep your WhatsApp settings set to receive codes only via the official app or SMS, and enable two‑step verification for added protection.

An SMS arrived about a new WhatsApp verification code for my number (which I never asked for), followed by aggressive calls from this line. Likely a scam—ignore and block it.
