Upon calling back, I spoke with a man who had a heavy foreign accent and claimed to represent Syncricity Bank. He requested my social security and account numbers, which I refused to provide. He asserted that they were a new entity, resulting from GE Capital's name change, but I remained skeptical. I informed him that, had this been genuine, I would have received notification via mail. He claimed that mail notification required my account information, which I declined to provide, and I subsequently ended the call.
