Expert Opinion
Watch out for persistent calls from this number that claim to be a fish‑and‑game survey. Many callers are actually contracted research firms collecting fishing‑activity data on behalf of the California Department of Fish and Game. If you’re unsure, let the call go to voicemail and verify the agency’s official number before sharing any details. Ask to be placed on their internal do‑not‑call list, and request a written confirmation of removal. Blocking the number on your phone or using carrier‑level filters can also curb repeat attempts. Remember, legitimate surveys won’t pressure you for personal info or threaten penalties.
