Expert Opinion

Ever wondered why that unknown number keeps showing up in your caller ID? The pattern points to a robocall debt‑collection scam that masquerades as a mediation firm, using vague case numbers and threats to force a callback. Never share personal or financial details, and avoid pressing any keypad prompts. Hang up, block the number, and report it to the FTC or your carrier’s spam‑call service. Keep a written log of the call, and consider placing the number on a do‑not‑call registry to reduce future hits. If you suspect identity theft, alert your bank and credit bureaus promptly.
