These messages usually come from the 833‑217‑8326 number and push a link to a payment portal that asks for personal data. Treat any unsolicited medical‑bill text as potential fraud. Verify the claim by calling the hospital’s official billing office, not the number in the message, and never enter SSN or insurance details on an unknown site. Report the number to your carrier and to the FTC to help stop the scam.
