Ever wonder why a call that sounds like AT&T shows up on your voicemail? Most of these recordings are spoofed messages trying to get you to pay a bill or hand over account details. Because the number 1‑800‑947‑5096 can be forged, the caller usually has no real link to the carrier. Treat any payment reminder as suspicious, verify with the official AT&T website or app, and never share personal info over the phone. Use your phone’s block feature or an app, report the number to the FTC and your carrier, and keep a log of repeated attempts to help authorities track the phishing pattern. Remember, a legitimate bill notice will always give you a clear way to confirm it without pressure.

Silent Call
After repeatedly receiving calls from this number, I finally answered, only to be met with silence before the caller hung up. I'm seeking assistance in identifying the source of these calls.

In today's landscape of sophisticated scams and advanced technology, exercising caution is prudent
Paying your AT&T bill will stop these calls, as it's a legitimate attempt by the company to collect debts for their services.

Google Voice
Apparently, my phone's autocorrect feature is not very reliable, as indicated by the asterisk next to Google Voice.
It's clear that this is a scam, as I receive calls on my Google Voice number, which I only use for untrusted websites; there's no logical reason for AT&T to contact this number, and the automated message suggesting a callback or dialing 611 seems like a phishing attempt.

Silent Call
When I answered the phone, there was no one on the other end to speak with.

Given my use of a prepaid phone, there is no plausible reason for the phone company to contact me via call, as any necessary information could be conveyed through a text message, leading me to question the legitimacy of this communication.

Over the past few months, I've received multiple calls from this number on my non-AT&T phone.
Ever since i filled out a survey about AT&T, they have been calling me alot, like 2-3 times a day, payback or what
A recorded message from AT&T was played, but since my payments are up to date, the call seemed unnecessary, prompting me to blacklist the number

I completly agree, i just recived a call from this number 5 minutes ago, but no one was there when i answered, it must be a scam.
After terminating my 20-year service due to deteriorating customer support, I ported my number to a competitor, only to be hit with demands for payment on a plan that doesn't include data, and now my credit report is affected by their actions.
It's unlikely someone without an AT&T account would respond to a call claiming they need to pay an AT&T bill
Folks, just pay your bill
This is undoubtedly a fraudulent scheme.
Repeated calls to my cell phone are unwanted, especially since I'm not behind on any payments and prefer not to receive calls from unknown numbers.
