I've never had any problems with this number, it's legit, but the hold time is too long.

Calls claiming a warrant for your arrest often turn out to be scams targeting Social Security numbers. The 1‑800‑772‑1213 line is the legitimate SSA number, yet fraudsters frequently spoof it to harvest personal information or threaten legal action. Never share your SSN, bank details, or passwords over the phone; instead, hang up and call the official SSA line yourself using the number listed on the agency’s website. Monitor your credit and benefits statements for any unauthorized activity, use call‑blocking tools, and report suspicious calls to the FTC. Staying cautious keeps your identity safe.

I dont apreciate their calls.
A voicemail was left claiming fraud on the recipient's Social Security account, instructing them to press 1, which is a clear scam, often targeting the elderly.
This is a total scam, robo calls from 972-497-1400 left a 800 number to call back claiming they are SSA, but SSA dont make calls to peoples, i have recieve legit mail from SSA recently

A message was left stating our social security would be suspended if we didn't call back, which is clearly a spam attempt by crooks since we're not even eligible for social security yet
The number appears to be spoofed, displaying the name JENNY GOVERN.
The recorded message falsely claimed my SSN was associated with criminal activity, and when I pressed #1, I was connected to an agent with a strong accent and significant background noise.

My wife was targeted by a scammer with an Indian accent, who instructed her to purchase $700 worth of Nike gift cards. Upon inquiry, the caller claimed to be from Utah, despite the caller ID indicating Gwynn Oak, Baltimore, Maryland.

Be cautious of calls claiming your SS# has been cancelled - it sounds like a scam to me.
Eight years later, do you think posting here will actualy help that person now?
It is essential to remember that Social Security will not provide personal information over the phone; these scammers can manipulate caller ID to display a legitimate number, but legitimacy is always confirmed by a message if the call is genuine.
They claimed our social security was beeing suspended and told us to press a number to talk to a officer, or else our benefit will be blocked permantly...but we dont even recieve social security benefit yet
Be prepaired to wait a long time if you call this number, at least 45 minits, whats the point of that?

Someone from this number claim they are the Social Security administration, stating my benefits will be blocked if i dont respond becuse they detect suspicious activty
Lkkkoklmmmkoimmlolmnmkkkmnnkk remains unchanged as it appears to be nonsensical
This number is clearly a spoofed one, it shows up as Jenny Govern on my caller ID.
After verifying with the main SS office, it appears this call was fraudulent as they stated they never leave messages
I can verify that this number is legitimate and not a fraud, as it is associated with the SSA
