Never trust an unexpected call that claims to be from Expedia without first verifying the source. Callers often use spoofed caller ID to mimic the official 1‑800‑397‑3342 line, then pressure you with fake flight or hotel changes. Hang up, locate the genuine Expedia customer‑service number on the company's website, and call that directly. Scrutinize any email links or voicemail details; legitimate messages will reference your actual reservation ID. Never provide payment information or personal data until you’ve confirmed the request with Expedia itself. If the call feels urgent or threatening, treat it as a red flag and report it to your carrier.

Expedia contacted me regarding a potential flight reschedule due to a tight connection, but their proposed alternative was not suitable.
Purporting to be from Expedia, the caller claimed my flight from Pittsburgh to Seattle was cancelled and attempted to reschedule, which seemed suspicious.
Apparently, recieved a call this mornig and a voicemessage was left. Earliar I had gotten a spam email with the same number claiming to be Expedia ([email protected]), what a nusance. The email stated my hotel booking had been canceld and I should ring them for alternitives, I fell for it and booked anouther hotel. Turns out my booking was fine all along.
The persistence of these individuals is notable, as they allow the phone to ring at least 20 times with each call, demonstrating a lack of regard for the recipient's time.

A letter detailing fraudulent activities caught my attention, leading me to this page.
Upon answering, there was complete silence on the other end of the line.
The number is actually a customer service line for Expedia, which can be reached by dialing 1-800-EXPEDIA.
